Participatory Data Interventions

These documents showcase the participatory data interventions, conducted by the Edgelands Institute in Geneva and Medellín, and which actively integrated citizen participation and interventions in the identification and recording of surveillance technologies. This allowed for a hands-on approach to the discussion of how surveillance data are treated and what is done with them. These projects also provided methodological tools to various stakeholders, as a way of empowering citizens and community leaders in creating a balance between digital security measures and co-existence in society.
